Bob Tryanski, Storyteller

Inspiration can be found anywhereBob Tryanski believes that everyone has a story to tell, and, if you have the courage to find and follow it, your story can lead you to answer life’s most significant questions.

Questions like:

What do you get when you combine tandem skydiving and a large box of Pop Tarts with an episode of Frasier and the Legend of Shamu?

How could playing the accordion as a child lead to infertility as an adult?

Can sleep apnea be cured with a twelve-step program?

What do the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John have in common with The Legend of Sleepy Hollow?

If you ask Bob these questions, there’s a good chance he’ll say, "I wish I could tell you," but he’s not dodging the question - he's looking for an invitation.

If you invite Bob to tell you the story, he’ll take you on a hilarious journey through a wide variety of unusual situations and clandestine destinations.  If you join Bob for an evening of live storytelling, there’s a good chance it will be an evening you won't soon forget.

For more than twenty years Bob has delighted teachers and teens, parents and professionals with his humorous and warm autobiographical tales, coming of age stories, and yarns about the quirky complexities of modern life.

Storyteller Bob TryanskiBob is an award-winning writer, speaker, and storyteller from Lawrence, Kansas. He was born in Philadelphia, is a graduate of Syracuse University, and a former faculty member at the Newhouse School of Public Communications and Mississippi State University.  He is a regular audience favorite at story slams, house concerts, conferences, and festivals around the country, in front of audiences as small as three and as large as three thousand.

Bob’s trademark is his remarkable ability to tell stories that stay with you- stories plucked from his adventures growing up in a Polish-Catholic family in the ethnically diverse neighborhoods of Philadelphia, inspirational stories about ordinary people doing extraordinary things, and humorous, one-of-a-kind philosophical tales about the insights he’s picked up from the unexpected curve balls life continually tosses his way.

Through it all, Bob has an interesting story to tell and a provocative message to share.  His stories are filled with hope, devoid of hype and delivered with wit and wisdom.
